Every morning, I text message a friend of mine in Connecticut, wishing him a good morning. After a few seconds of pleasantries, the "conversation" usually digresses towards politics, the economy, pandemic, strife, etc. I am a good friend, so I usually just listen. Is that being a good friend?
My friend texted that he was already on his second cup of coffee in order to keep up with the pace of world events. I chimed in:
What flavor of coffee are you drinking?
Is the coffee hot?
What does it taste like?
Cream/sugar? Skim or black?
He answered me in great detail and seemed pleased with his choice of how to start his day.
Coffee is beauty.
